The Corruption of Local Courts
How the graft works in the name of Rehabilitation
A local criminal with a record as thick as a phone book was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny over 10k, Criminal Conspiracy, and possession of a gun
The judge tossed out all but the Grand Larceny charge, and reduced the 1st Degree Burglary charge to 2nd Degree Burglary. He was sentenced to 15 years, but will be able to be paroled in 4.
Let’s talk about how this happens, why, and who derails things to let criminals back out on the streets
It costs a lot of money to keep a criminal in prison, and there are plenty of people making money on various forms of rehabilitation. That’s the short answer.
Treatment centers for mental health, job training and placement, various and “intervention programs”. It almost always it starts as a Foundation that entices the local officials with cash. Then, they get recognized by the federal government, and the federal government gives tax money to the local or state government, who then pays the Foundation. Sweet deal, right?
Concurrently, the prison system in SC is changing the rules, and the rules changes are to implement a more lenient custody and point program.
Pretty interesting stuff if you’re familiar with any of the scandalous stories that come out of the SC prisons.
Ok, let’s get specific and back up everything I just laid out.
Here’s the receipts on just one of these NGO type organizations, Concordance
Founded by Danny Ludeman, former Wells Fargo CEO initially in St Louis.
Here’s a new story where he gives you his story.
Nobody gets paid during the pilot implementation, that comes later
Wrapped in the usual Social Justice falsehoods, to make everyone feel morally superior

Here’s Ludeman’s fundamental sales pitch:
You will never see a serious discussion about which criminals should or should not ever be set free on the rest of us. His recidivism claims are impossible to validate
We’ll look at the cost of incarceration and “processing” through the system in another post, back to the subject at hand
So, Ludeman gets involved initially with another NGO
He started out in his home state of Missouri and quickly shifted to scaling Concordance

Then, expand facilities and services to gain market share

AND the most important piece - get on the payroll of the federal government

And here we are where the pot of gold lives at the end of the rainbow
